Exciting news.
1. We got our home study in the mail, and we are approved to be parents for one year. Our parenting expires 10/5/2012. Mark your calendars. If we don't adopt by then, we have to get a new home study.
2. Our profile is finished. I am taking a disk to the printer tomorrow to have a proof made - and then we'll have the copies made for our adoption firm to distribute.
After that (as one friend so aptly put it), it's "game on!"
Quick facts of interest:
- The birth moms are all in their third trimester - so somewhere between three months and three hours away from delivery.
- Only 30% of the babies are born in California.
- When we get a call, we have 24 hours to decide whether or not we want to "match" with that birth mom based on the biographical, medical, and social information we are given.
- We can pass an unlimited number of times.
